Dark Invitation is the one hundred and fourth Extra Ops introduced in Metal Slug Attack.

Story

Maria leads her knights into battle against a far superior Rebel force. With casualties mounting on her side, her treasured arms telepathically communicates with her. It tells her to seek its power again to defeat her enemies. Maria refuses, as she wants to win battles with her own strength. The treasured arms reminds her that she is only alive because she used its power, as she would have died otherwise. Maria gives in and allows the treasured arms to possess her, and she runs around the battlefield cutting down enemy soldiers.

Not sated, she encounters Allen O'Neil and rushes him to sate the bloodlust. Allen eventually orders a retreat and the Rebel Army withdraws. A knight tries to bring Maria back to reality, but it seems as if the treasured arms has fully possessed her. However, Maria manages to take control and the treasured arms willingly lets go, knowing that Maria will be using its power again. Maria apologizes to her knights, but one of them tells her that if she didn't use her power then they would have all died. Maria is upset that she is not strong enough, but knows that without her treasure arms they would have been obliterated. She wonders as to why she has this power. Meanwhile, the treasured arms wants to see Maria suffer as it knows she will come back to it for assistance.
