The Independent Army faction is a playable faction in Metal Slug Attack.

Overview[]

Unlike most factions, this faction consists of a random strew of smaller factions, hence their name "Independent".

There are several mini factions:

Amadeus Syndicate
Japanese Army
Mummies
Nature (Esther, Chariot, etc.)
Mutants (Mutated Soldier (Neo), Big Snail, etc.)
Red Goblin Society (Red Goblin, Vatn, etc.)
Vampires (Aswang, Sharl, Agalia, etc.)

Independent units are fairly strong, some of which come with multiple debuffs. Their stats are usually higher compared to other factions to make up for the lack of a general buffer, as "buffers" prior to 5.8.0 only worked on specific units. As of 5.8.0 however, a global buffer was introduced - the Celestial Ruler Rokker.

The faction has particularly powerful ranged units but lacks melee to support them.
